This course is for adults aged 19 and over who are already working, or want to work, as playworkers in a variety of play settings such as breakfast clubs, after school clubs, holiday playschemes, adventure playgrounds and community organisations and schools.

During this course, you will be able to develop your skills using a range of techniques. You can expect to complete units such as Understanding Play and Playwork Principles, Supporting Inclusion in a Playwork Setting and Working with Parents, Carers and Families.

To join this course, you will need to be able to write at Level 2/GSCE English standard. You will need to have completed a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. You will also need to have secured a placement in a playwork setting (hours TBC).

You will be required to develop an ongoing portfolio of knowledge and skills, and will also be assessed in the workplace.

Level 3 qualifications aim to facilitate progression to higher level study, which requires knowledge and skills different from those gained at Levels 1 and 2. Within college, you could progress to our Foundation Degrees in Educational Support or Early Years, depending on your previous experience.

Many courses offer learning opportunities that you may need to pay for. This may include things like study visits and visiting speakers. We will let you know in advance if there will be additional costs.
